Football Academy

Our school runs a Football Academy aimed at shaping character and promoting children’s social development through teamwork. Training sessions are held at the Middle School’s sports facilities, with transportation provided by the school buses. On weekends, our athletes compete with other academies, and we also participate in several tournaments throughout the year.

Handball Academy

Handball is an integral part of the Ministry of Education’s Physical Education curriculum across all school levels. Since 2018, our school has also included handball in the afternoon Academy activities — beyond the regular curriculum — from Kindergarten and Primary through to Middle and High School.

At the National School Handball Championship for High Schools, held annually, the Mary N. Raptou Schools handball team has achieved:

  • 8th place (2018)
  • 3rd place (2019) – with university admission points
  • 4th place (2022) – with university admission points

More than 70 of our students choose handball as part of their afternoon activities.

What makes handball so appealing?

  • It’s an Olympic sport with a strong tradition and recognition in Greece for over 40 years
  • It’s exciting and dynamic, with fast-paced play and many goals
  • It’s equally suited to boys and girls
  • It has simple rules and minimal equipment requirements
  • It fosters cooperation and socialization, as a team sport

Volleyball Academy

In our Volleyball Academy, we aim to help our students:

  • Develop a love for volleyball and sports in general
  • Improve their psychomotor skills and learn the technical and tactical aspects of the game
  • Embrace physical activity with a positive attitude, build teamwork, social skills, patience, persistence, and courage
  • Learn to handle both victory and defeat with maturity

Tennis Academy

As part of the Afternoon Sports Program, students can choose to take tennis classes.
Tennis is a noble sport that teaches authentic sportsmanship. It develops strength, speed, endurance, muscle coordination, mobility, and also nurtures social and personal qualities such as patience, perseverance, self-discipline, and self-awareness.

Lessons take place on a full-size tennis court at the Middle School facilities, with transportation provided by the school buses. We use specialized training equipment that turns learning basic techniques (forehand, backhand, volley, smash, service) into an engaging and fun experience.

Choir

Our school choir offers students the opportunity to express themselves through music and singing, while developing their artistic sensibilities and team spirit. Our goal is to instill a love for music, help students develop their vocal abilities, and introduce them to the discipline and collaboration required in a choral ensemble.
